Last night, my wife and I were watching the news and they were covering a fire in Erwin. Oh my goodness....did you see it? The fire was huge! And it destroyed the Old Town Hall in downtown Erwin. Fortunately, nobody was hurt. A big thank you to the firefighters for helping contain the fire and preventing it from doing more damage.

Firefighters and paramedics work under situations like accidents and terror attacks and similar hostile environments. They must have adequate medical expertise in order to deal with victims and patients of extreme injury and trauma. The paramedic provides for essential pre-hospital aid administering intravenous injections when required; a doctor is often contacted through radio. The job of the firefighter and the paramedic is complimentary, each helping the other to provide protection.
